Kostarisk joint research laboratory has received government funding managed by the French National Research Agency under the France 2030 Investment Plan (ref. ANR-16-IDEX-0002).

AZTIA technological centre focused on marine and food research

AZTI is a technological centre focused on marine and food research. It is a non-profit private foundation whose mission is the social development and the increase of the competitiveness in its working areas by means of the research and technological innovation.

AZTI is organised around 10 research areas related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

 

ODD number 13: Climate action
ODD number 14: Life below water
ODD number 12: responsible consumption and production
ODD number 3: good health and well-beng
ODD number 2: zero hunger

The research team involved in KOSTRISK is focused on Operation oceanography services, and Marine and coastal environmental management. AZTI cultivates a high scientific quality research with the application of this research results. The number of scientific publications remains at around 120 indexed publications per year (>75% in first-quartile journals), with more than 6,000 citations to AZTI work in 2023.

AZTI is member of Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA). BRTA is an alliance formed by 4 collaborative research centers (CIC BioGUNE, CIC NanoGUNE, CIC BiomaGUNE and CIC EnergiGUNE) and 12 technology centers (Azterlan, Azti, Ceit, Cidetec, Gaiker, Ideko, Ikerlan, Lortek, Neiker, Tecnalia, Tekniker and Vicomtech) with the aim of developing advanced technological solutions for the Basque companies. With the support of the Basque Government, the SPRI Group and the Provincial Councils of the three territories, the alliance seeks to promote collaboration among its centers; to strengthen the conditions to generate and transfer knowledge to companies, contributing to their competitiveness; and to spread the Basque scientific and technological capacity.
